About Cathedral Rock National Park

This is a stunning National Park in the New England Region of NSW featuring impressive granite formations.

Woolpack Rocks and Cathedral Rocks are the most well known destinations for walkers who don't mind a bit of rock hopping and scrambling.

There are two excellent campgrounds (Barokee and Native Dog) that are linked together by walking tracks (about 10km between the two).

In the more shaded sections the granite is covered in moss and the creeks are lined with ferns. In the more open sections the vegetation is mainly sub-alpine and dry eucalypt woodland as well as heathlands.

Although not as well known as the "Cathedral Rocks", the Woolpack rocks offer the best views of the surrounding park and you can easily spend a few hours wandering among the boulders and tortured trees.

Check out the pages for Barokee and Native Dog camping areas for more information about the walks and access to these day and camping areas.
